Managing Mail Settings

How to Allow or Restrict the Downloading of the Junk Folder Messages to Your Email Client

  • Follow these easy steps to Allow or Restrict the Downloading of your Webmail Junk Folder Messages to Your Email Client.
You can configure your online mailbox to allow or restrict your e-mail program (Microsoft Outlook etc.) to download the contents of your online Junk folder.
  • Important Notes About Enabling Junk Folder Downloads

    1. Convenience of Access
      • By enabling this option, you no longer need to log in to Zimbra Webmail to check your Junk folder. Messages flagged as junk, will be accessible directly in your email client.
    2. Potential Risks
      • Be aware that this setting may result in unwanted spam messages appearing in your inbox. The filters in your email client might not be as robust as Zimbra's native junk filtering system.
    3. Reliance on Antivirus Software
      • Once enabled, your mail scanner (antivirus software) will play a key role in identifying and filtering out spam or malicious messages. Ensure your antivirus is up-to-date and configured for email scanning to maintain security.

    2. Click IMAP Folders.
    3. Click Query.
