Why Your Sent Emails May Appear Missing After the Migration

Why Your Sent Emails May Appear Missing After the Migration

  • After your mailbox was moved to the new Mweb email platform, you may notice that your Sent Items appear to be missing in Outlook. Incoming mail works as expected, but your old sent emails are not visible where you expect them.

This does not mean your sent mail was deleted or lost.

The issue is caused by a difference in how the old and new email platforms name the Sent Items folder.

    • The old Mweb webmail platform stored sent mail in a folder called Sent
    • The new Mweb webmail platform uses Sent Items
    • Outlook treats these as two separate folders

Because of this, Outlook may display two Sent folders, and your older sent emails may be sitting in the one you are not currently viewing.

  • How to Find Your Old Sent Emails in Outlook

    1. Open Outlook
    2. Expand your email account folders
    3. Look for both:
      • Sent
      • Sent Items
    4. Click each folder to view its contents

Your older sent emails will be in one folder, while newer sent emails are in the other.

How to Fix This Going Forward

Option 1: Leave Both Folders As They Are

    • This is safe and requires no changes
    • Use Sent Items for all new emails
    • Your older sent mail remains accessible in the other folder

Option 2: Move Your Old Sent Emails Into Sent Items

If you prefer everything in one place:

    1. Open the Sent folder that contains your older emails
    2. Select all emails
      • Windows: Ctrl + A
      • Mac: Cmd + A
    3. Drag the selected emails into Sent Items

Once done, Outlook will continue using Sent Items for all future sent mail.

  • Important to Know

    • No sent emails were deleted during the migration
    • This is a one-time folder naming issue
    • Your email data is safe
