How to complete RICA for your LTE or 5G service

• If you have ordered a service with a sim card, such as LTE or 5G, you are legally required to complete RICA to register the sim card in your name before the service can be activated.
  

• What you will need to complete RICA:

  1. Cellphone, laptop or PC (Performs best on a cellphone)

  2. Valid ID document, ID card or Passport
  

  3. Proof of address (not older than 3 months)
  

  
  *Note that RICA must be completed by the applicants themselves
  

• Upon the successful application for a sim card service with Mweb, you will receive a link via SMS or WhatsApp to complete the RICA process. Only after RICA has been completed will any hardware be delivered.
  
• This link is only valid for 24 hours, so please complete the process soonest. If your link has expired, please contact Mweb for assistance.

  
  

• Step 1:

  •You are presented with the homepage for the RICA portal when clicking on the link sent via SMS / WhatsApp

  •Select the checkboxes to confirm acceptance of the T&C’s, followed by “Start onboarding”

  

• Step 2.1: Identification Details

  If Identification Number

  

  •Use the toggle to change from ID number to Passport

  •ID or Passport number to be entered, followed by the “Continue” button

  *Note that an error will be displayed if an invalid identity number is entered

  

• Step 2.2: Identification Details

  If Passport

  

  Enter your passport number, passport expiry date, your name, surname, and DOB

  *Note that an error will be displayed if an invalid identity number is entered

  

• Step 3.1: Identification Document Capture

  Capture or Upload Identification

  

  •Select how you would like to submit a copy of the ID document / card or Passport

  •You may take a photo OR upload a copy

  

• Step 3.2: Identification Document Capture

  Capture or Upload Identification continued…..

  

  •You will be presented with some Do’s & Don’ts before continuing to upload your ID or Passport
  •Select “Next” to view each tip
  •Select “Got It” once you have read

  (A) For Identification Document Capture

  

  •Select “Green ID Book” OR “New ID Card”
  •Fill the capture screen with the ID
  •Capture the photo once you have focused the image
  •Select “Yes, proceed” if you are happy with the image OR
  •Select “No, retry” to take a new image

• (B) For Passport Capture

  

  •Select “Drop a file here” to upload if your passport is saved to your PC
  •Select “Yes, proceed” if you are happy with the image OR
  •Select “No, retry” to take a new image

• Step 4.1:

  Take Profile Photo

  

  •Time for that Selfie!
  •You will be presented with some Do’s & Don’ts before continuing to take a photo
  •Select “Next” to view each tip
  •Select “Got It” once you have read

  

• Step 4.2:

  Time for a Selfie

  

  •Face the camera
  •Place your face within the border
  •Snap that Selfie!
  •Select “Yes, proceed” if you are happy with the image OR
  •Select “No, retry” to take a new image

  

• Step 5:

  Address Capture

  

  •Search or capture your address information

  •Select “Continue”

  

• Step 6:

  Proof of Address

  

  •Upload a proof of address file not older than 3 months

  •Select “Proceed” once done

  

• Process Complete

  •Your electronic RICA (e-RICA) is now complete
