How to Change the Ownership of Your Mweb Account

To change the ownership of your Mweb account, download the Change of Ownership form, have both the current and new account holder complete and sign it, then email it to changeofownership@mweb.com. All past-due balances must be paid first, and we’ll process the change within 24 to 48 hours.

Before You Start

All you need is the completed form. You don’t need to send any other documents, unless the account holder has passed away (see below).

  • Any past-due balances must be paid in full before ownership can change.
  • The current account holder is responsible for all account charges until the change of ownership is complete.
  • When the whole account is transferred, the customer code stays the same, and claims or transactions can’t be transferred between customer codes.
  • If the new owner wishes to have their own customer code, a new account will be created, and the Product will be transferred to the new account. This will allow the previous owner’s account to remain unchanged, enabling them to retain their existing customer code and use the account for any future Products.

How to Change Ownership

  1. Download the form

Get the Mweb Change of Ownership form above. You can fill it in on your computer, or print it and complete it by hand.

  2. Current account holder

Fill in your customer code, contact details, moving out date and the username, mailbox or Product being transferred. Select the boxes to confirm you’ve settled all outstanding balances and explained all fees and limitations to the new account holder, then sign.

  3. New account holder

Fill in your details, ID or passport number, address and moving in date. Select the boxes to accept Mweb’s terms and conditions, then sign.

  4. Send it to us

Save the fully completed form and email it to changeofownership@mweb.com.

What Happens Next

Once we receive your completed form, we’ll process the change of ownership within 24 to 48 hours. The new account holder will then receive confirmation that the account is in their name.

Transferring Only Some of Your Products

If you’re only handing over some of your Products, list the ones being transferred on the form. We’ll create a new account for the new account holder and move only those Products across. Everything else stays on your existing account.

If the Account Holder Has Passed Away

No signature is needed from the deceased account holder, provided a copy of the death certificate is attached. Any outstanding charges on the account relating to clawbacks, including charges for the Free-to-Use Router, transfer to the new account holder.

What the New Account Holder Should Know

  • You’re responsible for all account charges once the change of ownership is complete.
  • If you cancel the Product later, you’ll be responsible for any termination fees from the initial set-up, and for returning the Free-to-Use Router if you already have one.
  • Add your payment method (debit order or credit card) on your Online Account.
