    South Africa has been grappling with the persistent issue of loadshedding for a considerable period. As the looming Stage 8 loadshedding intensifies and a lasting resolution to the country's power scarcity remains elusive, the time has come to consider Gizzu power solutions as a viable option.

    Gizzu Power Stations are highly convenient, battery-operated generators designed to provide power to various devices during loadshedding and power outages.

    These power stations come in a variety of sizes, each offering different estimated run times and outputs. When selecting the most suitable option for your needs, it's essential to carefully examine the various details associated with each Gizzu power station model.

    Please double-check the watt requirement of the appliance you want to power before connecting it to your Gizzu Power Station. Please also note that this product does not feature a UPS (Uninterrupted power station) mode and cannot be used as such.

    We strongly advise keeping a UPS plugged into your ONT and router continuously. Additionally, during load shedding, it is preferable to utilize the power station for charging your devices, such as laptops, powering lights, and running TVs. This setup ensures uninterrupted connectivity and power supply for essential devices during power outages.

    What is the W?

    W is Wattage. It is the amount of power an electrical device consumes to work. Whether it's powering a router/CPE fibre (6 to 24 watts) , illuminating a light bulb (2 to 100 watts) or running a vacuum (400 to 900 watts). To calculate wattage you simply multiply voltage(V) by amperage(A) on the device. Normally indicated on the power supply of the device or sticker where the model nr is on etc.

    Power Output vs Capacity

    Power Output: is the Maximum Wattage that you can connect to the Gizzu. Capacity: is the amount of wattage it can supply rated in Wh(Watts hour)

    For example:

    GPS150 - Power Output 150W - Capacity 155Wh

    GPS150MAX - Power Output 150W - Capacity 242Wh

    Both units power output is 150W, but the GPS150 can supply 155Wh while the GPS150MAX can supply 242Wh.

    While you can only connect a device or devices with a maximum power output of 150W on both units, the GPS150Max will supply power for longer because of its bigger battery capacity.

    1. For maximum performance, be sure to charge the power station if it has been unused and in storage for more than 3 months.
    2. Not using the original Gizzu power adapter to charge the device may cause damage to the product.
    3. Keep this device away from heat sources and direct sunlight whilst in use as well as when in storage.
    4. Do not use this product beyond the rated load.
    5. Be sure to use this product in a well-ventilated environment.
    6. Do not attempt to open the device. Opening the device may lead to increased risk of electric shock and fire.

  • Trouble Shooting Questions

    •Is the power station connected to a reliable power source or fully charged if it’s a portable model?

    •Are there any visible signs of damage or loose connections in the power cord?

    •Are there any indicator lights on the power station, and if so, what colors are they displaying?

    •Do the indicator lights show any error codes or patterns?

    •Is the power station rated to support the device you are trying to power? (Check for compatibility issues)

    •What other devices are connected to the power station? Are they drawing too much power?

    •Have you recently added any new devices to the power station setup?

    •Have you tried resetting the power station by turning it off and on again?

    •Is the power station getting unusually hot during use?

    •Are there any additional devices (e.g., extension cords, power strips) between the power station and the device you are trying to power? If yes, can you test without them?

    •If the power station has a battery, how old is it? Has it reached its life cycles?

    •If the unit’s AC current draw exceeds 10A it will trip the circuit breaker button to protect itself. Has the AC circuit breaker tripped, and has the button been pressed to reset the unit?

    •Using a generator to charge the power station will require a generator with a complaint and stable power supply as per the user manual. If the power station does not charge it may be due to the generators supply voltage.
  • Errors

    The below errors could be displayed on your power station

    E01 and E02: DC over-current

    Solution: Reduce the number of devices being used and restart the unit.

    E03: DC short-circuit

    Solution: Reduce the number of devices being used and restart the unit.

    E05: The inverter has been disconnected

    Solution: The unit must be returned to the supplier and processed.

    E06: There is an AC over-load due to a short circuit and over-heating

    Solution: Reduce the number of devices being used and restart the unit.

  • Gizzu Frequently asked Questions

    • Can I connect my toaster or kettle to the Gizzu power stations?

    • No, most if not all kitchen appliances will be 1000W and higher.
    • Can I connect my hair dryer or hair straightener to the Gizzu power stations?

    • No, hair dryers and straighteners requires very high Watts and will overload your Gizzu unit.
    • The GPS150Max shows 242Wh does that mean I can connect devices of 200W?

    • No, the maximum output of the GPS150Max is only 150W, the 242Wh is the capacity of the battery for extended run time.
    • Can I speed up the charging time of the GPS300 or GPS500?

    • Yes, if you use the power supply and the PD port charging on the USB-C then you can cut the charging times. (GPS300 from 6.5hours to 3.5hours. GPS500 from 9.5hours to 5.5hours.)
    • Can I use a solar panel to charge the Gizzu GPS series?

    • Yes, you can charge the GPS series with a solar panel. GSP60W & GSP90W is available.
    • Can the GPS150 be used as a UPS?

    • No, the GPS150 doesn’t have UPS feature and must only be used as a portable power station. Connect during loadshedding and then disconnect and charge up after load shedding stopped.
    • Can I charge and use the GPS300 or GPS500 at same time?

    • No, the power station only charges at about 60W, so with most devices connected the Power station will drain faster than it can charge. And when load shedding starts or when you need the Power station as a portable power station the battery will not be fully charged.
